Our Smiles

General Dentistry

Cleanings

While your at-home dental care will keep calculus build-up and plaque to the minimum, it is important to attend regular appointments with your dentist to monitor and maintain your oral health. A professional cleaning removes deposits your toothbrush and floss cannot reach. A dental cleaning typically involves preventative and diagnostic services, including cleaning, polishing, oral cancer screenings, evaluations for gum disease, and X-rays.

Fillings

Fillings repair minor damage and tooth decay. There are many types of filling materials, but the two main types are composite resins (tooth-colored) and amalgam. Tooth-colored fillings are bonded directly to the teeth, which helps to reinforce the remaining tooth structure. These types of fillings also wear like natural teeth and look very natural. Amalgam (silver) filling materials do have their purpose and are great for areas where a dry field from saliva is difficult to attain. Each type of filling has advantages and disadvantages. We will discuss which material best suits your needs.

Extractions

If your permanent teeth have been significantly damaged, removing the compromised teeth can help restore your oral health. We will discuss the different treatment options with you, so you can find the extraction treatment that fits your needs. Together, we will find a comfortable, gentle solution that is completed in one visit. Following the extraction, the missing tooth will most likely be replaced to avoid complications and help you retain your natural tooth and jaw structure.

Children’s Dentistry

Children should see a dentist when their first tooth appears, no later than their first birthday. Their first “regular” dental visit should be just after their third birthday.

During a child’s first visit, we will gently examine their teeth to make sure they have come in correctly and are not decayed. We may take X-rays, which will reveal any hidden decay and help us check on the status of the child’s developing permanent teeth. A topical fluoride treatment may be applied to a child’s teeth, and we will make sure they are receiving enough fluoride at home to promote the strength and development of their teeth and mouth. Finally, we will review with parents how to properly care for and clean their child’s teeth at home.

Smile Design

If you are interested in improving your smile, please give us a call today to schedule a smile evaluation. In this simple process, we will make recommendations after evaluating your smile. We will tailor these services to fit your individual needs and give you a more youthful, beautiful smile.

Cosmetic Dentistry

Teeth Whitening

Tooth whitening is quick, safe, and inexpensive. It is one of the simplest and easiest ways to give your smile extra shine. Depending on how many teeth show when you talk and smile, we can help you lighten only your upper teeth or all of your teeth.

Custom bleaching splints will be ready for you to pick up in only a day or two. The special bleaching agents will be given to you. This agent is placed into the splints and then worn on your teeth for a few hours a day. The whitening agent oxidizes the stains out of the enamel of your teeth. After you reach your desired level of brightness, you will only need to treat your teeth occasionally to maintain your new, whitened smile. This process is great for patients who would like to correct teeth discoloration caused by ageing, staining, or chemical damage to their teeth.

Restorative Dentistry

Veneers

Like composite fillings, porcelain veneers are made with tooth-coloured materials, which make the restoration look more natural. Veneers are thin, custom-made porcelain casings that are applied to the front side of teeth to correct misshapen, discoloration, or chips. This procedure is often very conservative, as a small amount of tooth enamel is removed to fit the veneers onto your teeth. This gives you a strong and esthetic look to your smile!

Inlays & Onlays

If more than half of a tooth’s biting surface has been damaged, an inlay or onlay is often used to correct the problem. Inlay and onlays can be made from a variety of materials including gold, composite resin, and porcelain. Pieces are bonded to the damaged areas of a tooth. Inlays are similar to fillings and are used on the cusp tips of a tooth. Onlays are for more substantial reconstructions and are often extended over one or more cusps of the tooth.

Gold is the traditional material used for inlays and onlays. Porcelain has become increasingly popular in recent years due to its natural-looking colours and strength.

Crowns

Dental crowns may be necessary if you are suffering from tooth decay or have received severe damage to your teeth. A crown restores the function, esthetics, and strength to the remaining tooth by covering it. Crowns are made from a variety of materials. Options will be discussed during your appointment or consultation. Together with Dr. Paige and our team, we will find the dental crown option that best fits your mouth.

Bridges

If you are missing a tooth due to gum disease, injury, or tooth decay, dental bridges may be used to fix the problem. If the issue is not corrected, missing teeth can cause greater problems for your overall health. Tooth-coloured fillings or composite fillings are typically bonded to adjacent natural teeth. Composite fillings can be shaped and polished to match your natural teeth, restoring esthetics and function to your mouth.

Preventive Dentistry

Orthodontics/Braces

Our orthodontic treatments will help you achieve the beautiful smile you have always wanted. Orthodontic care helps patients by bringing lips, teeth, and jaws into proper alignment. When teeth are straight, they function better, are easier to clean, and are more likely to last a lifetime. Dr. Paige is dedicated to helping patients of all ages find the orthodontic or restorative solution that fits their wants and needs. Whether it is preventative treatment for a child or helping an adult gain a straight smile through braces, he has the experience to help you and your family develop healthy smiles for life.

Night Guards

Night guards are oral appliances that help protect your teeth from the effects of bruxism or teeth grinding. Grinding and clenching are usually unconscious habits. Most of the time it is done at night time while you are sleeping. Having a night guard to protect your teeth while you sleep will help stop or relieve your symptoms of bruxism.

Mouth Guards

The team here at Paige Dentistry advocates for the use of custom-fit mouthguards, as they help prevent broken teeth and injuries to your jaw, face, tongue, and lips. A properly fitted mouthguard is a great option for patients of all ages. It provides them with a protective, comfortable way to protect their mouth from common injuries.

Advanced Technologies

Gum Disease Laser Treatment

Gum disease is a chronic, painless, and silent infection that can often go undetected until it has caused severe damage to a patient. Gum disease, or periodontal disease, occurs when bacteria gets below your gum line and attaches itself between the gum and the tooth, often causing tooth loss. Gum disease can cause tooth loss and destroy parts of the jaw bone.

Laser gum disease treatments disinfect and eliminate diseased tissue from around the tooth and inside the tissue pockets. Generally, patients will need to undergo 2-8 visits to disinfect the gum tissue completely. This treatment is less painful and has a faster recovery time. It is an excellent treatment option for patients with beginning to moderate cases of periodontal disease.

The Wand

The wand is used in conjunction with a computer-assisted anesthesia system, which allows for easier and more comfortable injections.

Digital Radiography

There are many benefits to digital radiography. It does not involve any chemical processing and is safer for you and the environment. In addition, it uses less radiation than traditional radiography and can be enlarged and viewed on a computer screen within seconds. X-rays help to determine areas of decay below existing fillings and between teeth, infections in the mouth bones, and other developing abnormalities.

Facial Enhancement

In addition to our cosmetic, restorative, and general dentistry services, we offer the latest techniques in facial rejuvenation.

Botox®, Juvederm, and Restylane are safe, effective prescription drugs that can help reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles. These treatments also give you a more youthful appearance by contouring areas like the cheeks and lips. Derma Fillers and Botox® can also help improve frown lines, deep lines, and lips that have lost their plumpness. We have an M.D. come into our office to perform these procedures.
