 First, a small, screw-like post made of titanium is surgically inserted into the jawbone. This implant post provides a strong foundation for the restoration and replaces the missing tooth roots. Every patient goes through a healing period to let the bone tissues integrate with the dental implant post. 

 After a period of healing, the implant restoration is placed. Restorations include custom-made dental crowns, dentures, or dental bridges. These restorative components are attached to the top of the implant post to replace the crown of the missing teeth or tooth.
